Nick Shaw

Nick Shaw was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Group of P&I Clubs in July 2019. Nick is responsible for co-ordination of the collective activities of the 13 International Group member Clubs including the internal organisation of the Group activities, co-ordinating the formulation and development of Group policies, the operation of the Group large claims pooling and reinsurance arrangements and the representation of the Group at Shipping, Trade and Insurance industry events and communication at government and intergovernmental levels. He is an active participant at CMI, BIMCO, GMF, IUMI, ICS, Intertanko, IACS amongst other industry associations.
Nick practised in Shipping and Marine Insurance law from 1990-2019, and has extensive knowledge and experience of the Shipping Industry and the P&I world coupled with considerable high level management experience gained as the Shipping Group Practice leader at the former Richards Butler from 2003-2007, and, following its merger with US based international law firm Reed Smith as Global Shipping & Transportation Industry Group Leader from 2007-2019. He has extensive experience of the Asian market having lived and worked in Hong Kong for two years and managed teams there and in Singapore. He has also managed office teams in New York, Greece and Paris.
Andreas Bisbas

Miller LLPAndreas is Chairman of Mutual Reinsurance at Miller LLP where he also heads up the War Reinsurance Team.
His experience includes 26 years as a marine insurance broker and 18 years as Head of Insurance at Tsakos Shipping during which time he spent ten years as Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping’s Insurance Committee and six years as a member of the INTERTANKO Legal & Insurance Committee.
He also spent six years on Britannia P&I Association’s Members Representative and five years on the Board of ITOPF.
Andreas is currently a Director Maritime London and Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights.
Nick Brown
Nick joined Lloyd’s Register in 1996 and was appointed CEO in January 2021.
In an extensive career with LR, he has worked as a ship surveyor in Bahrain, Dubai, Finland and Germany before moving to China to spend seven years leading LR’s activities in the country.
He has since been Director for Business Development and Innovation, Marine Chief Operating Officer and Marine and Offshore Director.
His focus as CEO is to deliver Lloyd’s Register’s vision of ‘working together for a safe, sustainable and thriving ocean economy’, improving the performance, safety and sustainability of their clients’ businesses through LR’s trusted advice, insight and expertise.
Nick is a graduate of Nottingham University, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Member of both the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.

Andrian Dacy
CEO & CIO of J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Global Transportation GroupWith a career in transportation investing beginning in 1988, Andy has over 35 years’ experience in the global shipping industry, and oversees an operating shipping business owning over 150 vessels in 10 separate subsectors. The portfolio also includes ownership of leading ship manger OSM Thome, and ownership of companies in the rail, aviation, EV charging, and municipal transport sectors.
Andy earned a BA from Dartmouth College and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University.
Paul Dean
Paul specialises in all things offshore and marine, with a particular focus on charterparties, bills of lading, energy, shipbuilding, disputes, collisions, total loss, towage, and limitation.
Recognised by Lloyd’s List as one of the 100 most influential people in the maritime industry and one of the market’s Top 10 lawyers, Paul is one of the most recognised and respected shipping lawyers globally.
With over 35 years of experience in traditional shipping, Paul also focuses on the future development and challenges of the industry, namely his sponsorship of maritime innovators, The Captains Table, and his market leading expertise in autonomous vessels.
In 2023 Paul was invited to become a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL), Swansea University. Paul is also an International Ambassador for the Mission to Seafarers.
Paul is qualified in England and Wales.

John Denholm CBE
Chairman, J. & J. Denholm John is Chairman of J. & J. Denholm Limited and Denholm Energy Services. A Chartered Accountant, he joined J. & J. Denholm in 1981 and progressed from accountant for the ship management business to Group Finance Director, Chief Executive and ultimately Chairman.
During his leadership, he transformed the Group by rebuilding its shipping operations and successfully diversified the business into Logistics, Seafoods, Industrial and Oilfield Services. In 2015, the Oilfield Services division was demerged to form Denholm Energy Services. John is widely recognised across the global shipping industry and has held a number of prominent leadership roles including President of BIMCO, Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights and President of the UK Chamber of Shipping.
He currently serves as Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping, is a Trustee of the Marine Society and Sea Cadets and sits on the boards of Hadley Shipping and Anglo Eastern Univan Group. In recognition of his services to shipping and charity, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2022.
Lola Fadina
Director for Maritime, Department for TransportAs an experienced Civil Servant, Lola has held a variety of posts in DfT, and across government as well as at the European Commission working on a range of transport, trade and decarbonisation policies. Most recently, as Director, Maritime, she is focusing on ensuring the maritime industry and its people are supported and safe. As part of her wider portfolio, she is currently focused on helping the sector deliver economic growth across the UK, delivering greener transport solutions, including at the international level, while empowering the Maritime workforce.
Nick Fell
Nicholas Fell is an Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the BW Group. He is currently also a Director of the NorthStandard Limited, Chairman of the Documentary Committee of BIMCO, an Associate Mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre, and is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
In his role as General Counsel of the BW Group, Nick oversees the Legal, Insurance and Corporate Secretarial departments of the Group. Nick has worked with BW since 2012.
Nick has an LLB from University of Liverpool, an LLM from the University of Leicester and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is qualified as an attorney in England, Hong Kong, New York and California.

Steven Gordon
Managing Director and Global Head,
Clarksons ResearchStephen Gordon is Managing Director and Global Head of Clarksons Research, the data and analytics division of Clarksons and a leading provider of intelligence covering global shipping, trade, shipbuilding, offshore energy and the maritime energy transition.
A graduate of the University of Oxford, Stephen joined Clarksons in 1999 as a shipbuilding analyst. During his career with the group, he has managed Clarksons Research’s consultancy, market intelligence and valuation activities and is also a Director of Clarksons Valuations.
Stephen is widely recognised as an authority on global shipping markets. He regularly addresses international maritime conferences and contributes analysis on freight markets, fleet development, shipbuilding, offshore activity, alternative fuels, energy-saving technologies and shipping’s decarbonisation pathway. Through his leadership of Clarksons Research, he oversees the production of market data, forecasts and strategic intelligence used by shipowners, investors, financial institutions, governments and other stakeholders across the international maritime industry. Clarksons Research processes and analyses millions of maritime data points each day.
Cdre Tim Green
Naval Regional Commander for London and Eastern England Commodore Tim Green took over the role of Naval Regional Commander for London & Eastern England in April 2025 and was appointed an Ordinary Aide-de-Camp to His Majesty the King. His previous role was Director of the Royal Navy’s Operational Advantage Centre; responsible for setting, maintaining, and developing warfighting standards and delivering operational advantage across the Royal Navy. He was awarded a CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025.
Guy Hindley
Guy Hindley was appointed Chairman of the Baltic Exchange Council in January 2025, following the leadership of Lord Jeffrey Mountevans who has held the position for the past two years.
Guy Hindley, who has served on the Baltic Exchange Council since January 2019, has a long and distinguished career in maritime sector, including his role as Managing Partner of Dry Cargo division at Howe Robinson, where he has been a key figure since for nearly four decades.
With more than 40 years of experience in the dry cargo industry, alongside a renowned reputation for understanding the challenges faced by modern shipowners, Guy Hindley is ideally placed to help Baltic Exchange and its growing membership enhance its strategic focus and global influence withing the shipping community.

Paul Jennings
Paul Jennings is a Managing Director of NorthStandard, the largest of the UK based P&I Clubs, and leads the organisation’s strategic growth with responsibility for strengthening its position in the global marine insurance market.
Since beginning in marine insurance after studying law some 3 decades ago, Paul has taken up several positions within the company, including serving as Chief Underwriting Officer (as well as Chair of the Reinsurance Committee of the International Group of P&I Clubs) and as Chief Executive Officer of the former North of England P&I Club until its merger with Standard Club in 2023.
Paul’s focus is on innovation, organisational development, and industry leadership, as well as playing a key role in shaping NorthStandard’s organisational culture and structure across its many territories.
In addition, Paul also served as Chair of the International Group of P&I Clubs, and he continues to work with industry bodies and with Governments and legislators to tackle the issues faced by shipowners and the marine community globally.

Markos Lyras
Markos Lyras is the Chief Executive Officer of the Lyras Group and its subsidiary Lyras Maritime, a private shipping business based in London and Athens, founded in 1936. Markos is the fourth generation of his family to be involved in the maritime industry and the third generation to actively run the company. Over the years, Lyras Maritime have been active in the dry cargo, tanker and container sectors. They also provide advice on insurance and chartering, as well as finance through Lyras Financial Services.
Markos also runs London-based businesses in health, wellness and real estate.
Markos is a board member of the Hellenic War Risk insurance association, where he sits on the Strategy and Reinsurance committee. He is also a board member of the London P&I Club, as well as a member of the Baltic Exchange and the GSCC.

Bronek Masojada FRSA

Poonam Melwani KC is Head of Quadrant Chambers and a leading silk specialising in shipping and international trade. She is widely recognised as a go-to advocate and adviser for complex, high-value maritime disputes, acting for shipowners, charterers, P&I clubs, insurers and traders across global markets.
Her practice spans the full range of dry shipping work, including charterparties, bills of lading, sale of goods and ship sale disputes, as well as collision and Admiralty matters involving arrests, forced sales and jurisdictional challenges. She is particularly experienced in disputes with a multi-jurisdictional dimension, often involving urgent applications such as freezing and anti-suit injunctions, and cases shaped by sanctions, geopolitical risk and state immunity.

Robin Mortimer
Robin Mortimer joined the Port of London Authority as chief executive officer on 31 March 2014. He has led the organisation through a period of significant growth, with London regaining its position as the UK’s biggest port in 2019. Initiating the Thames Vision, the PLA is focussed on delivering safety, sustainability and commercial growth out to 2050.
Prior to joining the PLA, Robin had 20 years’ experience in the UK civil service across a range of Government Departments. He was Private Secretary to the four Cabinet Ministers, including the Deputy Prime Minister from 1997-98. He led work on the Climate Change Bill in 2006, before becoming a director in Defra where he set up the UK’s Adapting to Climate Change programme, oversaw the creation of the Canal & River Trust and led policy on farming, air quality and the natural environment.

Michael Parker
Michael Parker was born in Scotland in 1956 and has an M.A. in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Magdalen College, Oxford University, graduating in 1977. In 1996 he attended the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University Palo Alto.
Michael joined Citibank N.A. in London in September 1977. In August 2019, he was appointed Chairman of Citi’s Global Shipping, Logistics and Offshore business having been Global Industry Head since 1997.

Executive Vice President Shipping and Maritime
Shell plcKarrie has a diverse career of over 30 years in the shipping industry. She is currently the Executive Vice President of Shipping and Maritime after serving as Senior Vice President of that same business.
Karrie has been responsible for Shell’s international shipping and maritime activities, including ships, barges, drilling units, floating production facilities and related operations. Her work spans Shell’s entire business across upstream, downstream, projects and construction. She is a leading spokesperson on safety and the environment, improving the efficiency of shipping and maritime operations, and driving technology and innovation, including digitalisation and decarbonisation. She is also a passionate advocate and champion of DEI and creating an integrated culture of inclusion in Shell, and beyond.
Karrie joined Shell Shipping & Maritime in 2012, initially as a project manager, followed by GM of their Global Technology and Innovation Group and then GM with responsibility for the Americas Region

Nicola Barry
Nicola is the Global Head of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for Braemar Plc, a leading provider of expert investment, chartering and risk management advice to the shipping and energy markets.
Prior to Braemar, Nicola has more than 25 years of commercial leadership with BP PLC across the energy landscape in oil, gas, chemicals and shipping markets. She has deep international experience across commodity trading floors in both London and Singapore, as well as directing chartering, trading and supply projects - most recently in establishing new markets for LNG, lower carbon ammonia and hydrogen.
