Building on the Success of 2025

The Global Hub’s return builds on the momentum created at LISW25, when its inaugural edition provided a powerful platform for international dialogue on the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of shipping.

The Global Hub in 2025 brought together senior government officials, industry leaders and international stakeholders, united by a shared commitment to protect jobs, strengthen the UK’s maritime leadership and accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Chris McDonald MP, then UK Minister for Industry, highlighted the government’s £448 million investment in the UK SHORE programme, alongside additional support for energy initiatives, as an important driver of sustainable growth across Britain’s maritime sector. His Excellency Dr Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Vice Minister of Transport and Logistics for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, also addressed the audience, outlining the Kingdom’s ambitious environmental goals—including plans to source 50% of its energy from renewables by 2050.

Throughout the day, discussions examined the geopolitical forces reshaping maritime transport, emerging leadership in emissions reduction and the regulatory challenges surrounding nuclear propulsion and new marine fuels.

Building on the Success of 2025

In 2027, that ambition will move to an entirely new level.

Expanded from one day to two, the Global Hub will offer more content, greater international participation and more opportunities for meaningful engagement. Its programme will address the defining issues facing global shipping—from decarbonisation, alternative fuels and clean technology to geopolitics, digital transformation, finance, regulation and the resilience of international supply chains.

Hosting the official opening ceremony for LISW27 will place the Global Hub at the centre of the week from its very first moment, creating a high-profile meeting point at which the global maritime community can connect, debate and set the agenda for the days ahead.

Organisations seeking a physical presence within the Global Hub will have an exclusive opportunity to participate through sponsorship. Exhibition stands are included within official sponsor packages—giving partners an integrated platform combining brand visibility, industry engagement and access to a senior international audience.

The Global Hub Returns in 2027—Bigger, Bolder and Now a Two-Day Showcase

Following its successful debut at London International Shipping Week 2025, the Global Hub will return in 2027 with an expanded two-day programme 13/14 September 2027 - and the honour of hosting the official opening ceremony for LISW27.

The enlarged Global Hub will bring together senior government representatives, international delegations, maritime leaders, innovators and investors for two days of high-level debate, collaboration and commercial engagement at the heart of the world’s leading maritime centre.

Momentum is already building, with COSCO and China Classification Society representing China and India Ship Registry representing India, confirmed as partners again for 2027. His Majesty’s Government will use the Global Hub to position the UK at the forefront of global maritime leadership, showcasing the country’s strengths in shipping, finance, law, technology, professional services, clean energy and maritime innovation.
